Frequently asked questions
Are athletes and parents charged a subscription?
No. Parents and athletes use Apex for free. They only pay per registration or session, and those payments flow through Stripe Connect to your organization (less the platform transaction fee).
What does the platform transaction fee cover?
Stripe processing, hosting, video infrastructure, support, and ongoing platform development. Higher tiers pay a lower percentage — Core 5%, Pro 4%, Elite 3%, and Enterprise from 2% (negotiated).
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period so you keep what you paid for.
Are people counts capped per tier?
No. Every paid plan supports unlimited admins, coaches, staff, and athletes. Tiers differ on transaction fee and (rolling out next) usage allowances like video storage and API throughput.
When should I choose Enterprise?
If you need SSO/SAML, audit-log export, custom integrations, a dedicated CSM, a negotiated platform fee, or a multi-organization rollout (federation, network, multi-club operator).
